Should you jump in with both feet and get yourself a powerful sport bike or pony up for a laid-back cruiser? How about a scooter? Should you buy used? How much should you pay? What about performance versus fuel economy?Honda may have the answer for you in the form of its entry-level CBR 125. Even those of us who are packing a little extra weight wont slow it down, and for novices it might be just about right.Another good thing about having an engine this small is that it returns about 2.5 litres per 100 kilometres. As long as you buy used and don't over-pay, you can get one in A-1 condition for less than $3,000. 08-05-2010, 10:40 AM #7 (permalink) cosmickid EcoModding Lurker Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Bottineau, ND Posts: 49 Civics Lesson - '02 Honda Civic LX 90 day: 33.38 mpg (US) Thanks: 6 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Yeah, but where's the loud pipes, or 300kph top end?!? LOL . The Honda Rebel and Nighthawk 234cc are a joke with the 70 mph top-speed and should be classified as unsafe for highway just like the CBR 125. i am not saying it cant be done, just that you would have to work REALLY, REALLY hard to do it. will this bike be what im looking for? and will it break me on gas and insurance? reply .
It's great for the city/beginners. Makes slightly more power, has 17" front wheel. While the CBR 125 will certainly appeal to a nich market of ladies in America, it will be a very hard sell for HEAVIER American riders. I dont want to buy a slow bike and invest a large amount of cash(keep in mind im only a student) and than be dissapointed because it's too slow and well yeah, simply too slow and no fun. ViragoTechForum.com :: Log in . Honda does have some very nice sporty 250cc motorcyles avaible elsewhere: full fairing CBR 250RR, naked CB 250 Hornet, naked VTR 250. More importantly, it makes a very good marketing tool for the Honda brand. I wouldn’t have listened either). Be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous though.
